The eastern Kazakstan One of the best ski destinations to start up the powder season

I am arranging 1 trip of back country skiing to one of my favorit spots for free riding and off pist.

Bring your fattest touring skis and a lot of energi and join me on this great ski trip, only 3 places!

Program

1^th december - Departure
Flight to Almaty, former capital in Kazakstan.
Arraving early in the morning 2^nd and check in at airport hotel
2^th december Early afternoon onward flight to local flight to
Ust Kamenogorsk (UK) ~1.5hrs flight
From Ust Kamenogorsk mini bus to Ridder for ~2.5hrs
Hopefully we have time to take an afternoon ski tour in the area of Ridder
Dinner and overnight at guesthouse or hotel in Ridder
3-7^th 5 days of full on ski-touring in an area 1 1/2 hour outside Ridder
Dinner and overnight at guesthouse
8-9^th Changing area, the last 2 days we do ski touring around Ridder.
With possibility to do 2 days of cat skiing
10^th december Flight from Ust Kamenogorsk to Astana or Almaty
11^th december flight back home

The skiing days in Klimovka is planned for 3 to 7 december, five days

# Steep skiing With Alpine Madness via Krister we can develop your technique for steep skiing in serious terrain. Learn to assess the snow cover and use helpful techniques and equipment to make your steep skiing safer.

#Skitouring in the area of St Sjöfallet. Mars 23-29 2025 A full week of adventure staying in a remote refuge, with a great chief who arranges the food service. With days filled of enjoyable skiing.

Summer 2025 - 4 days of rock climbing with a focus on long routes, "multi-pitch"

2:1 ratio maximum

We stay in a guesthouse or hotel with Chamonix as a starting point. We do day trips from CHX or we go to a suitable area in Switzerland or Italy. You should be able to follow grades up to 6a and we climb rocks that only require simple approaches without touching glaciers.

Our "new" climate means that climbing in areas that hold glaciers is becoming increasingly dangerous, with complicated terrain over the glaciers and more and more falls from cliffs and rocks. This has driven me to increasingly refrain from climbing in areas that contain such elements where the glaciers melt away and the permafrost is breaking out of the rock. Instead, I am extending the season towards the latter part of autumn. Nowadays, during September and October/November, conditions are often better with cooler temperatures, more stable rock and fewer people.
